Creamed spinach

A delicious side

Ingredients

  • 280g spinach leaves, washed, drained and chopped (can also substitute with one packet of frozen spinach leaves)

  • 1 heaped tbsp margarine/butter

  • 1 heaped tbsp flour

  • 1 cup skim milk

  • 1 handful reduced fat grated cheese

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan mix flour and margarine and stir for a few minutes until well combined

  2. Slowly add milk and continue stirring until mixtured thickens

  3. Continue this process until desired amount and consistency is reached

  4. Add cheese and mix until melted

  5. In a separate pan sauted the spinach

  6. Once the spinach is cooked, drain and stir into the white sauce
