Hazelnut spread

A healthier alternative to Nutella, lower in sugar and palm oil free

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hazelnuts

  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp cacao powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees

  2. Line a tray with gladbake and spread with an even layer of hazelnuts

  3. Roast for 8-10 minutes

  4. Allow to cool and then transfer the hazelnut into a food processor and blend for a few minutes

  5. Add oil and blend for another minute

  6. Add sugar, cacao powder, vanilla essence and salt and blend until all ingredients have combined

  7. Store in an air tight container in pantry
