Crispy sesame tofu

A versatile dish that is high in calcium and fibre - to be enjoyed as a delicious topping on vegetables, as a snack or in a vegetarian wrap

Ingredients

  • 450g firm tofu, cut into strips

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

  • 1 tsp ginger

  • 1 tsp maple syrup

  • 2 garlic cloves, diced

  • extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Drizzle oil on pan and allow to warm up

  2. Cut tofu into thin strips

  3. Place tofu in pan and continue turning until all sides are brown and crispy

  4. In a cup add sesame oil, soy sauce, sesame seeds, ginger, garlic and maple syrup and mix

  5. Once tofu is ready, pour mixture on top of tofu and allow to simmer for a couple of minutes

  6. Remove from pan and enjoy!
